Are they the original tyres! Even in the dry you'd find it hard to stop. Good to see it's getting the TLC it deserves...keep up the good work.

Re: 1380 Cooper

Very similar car to one that was being sold on Carzone a while back on UK plates. I'd be wary as that car is not a '65, i'd say that plate is off a car that is rotted beyond belief and not in use anymore saving on the VRT. But that is my opinion but could be totally genuine

A few snaps of the mini turnout. Didn't get them all but very hard to get clean shots with loads of people in the way and putting their fingerprints on all the cars  (why do people need to touch the cars, you'd swear they never touched a car before) http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e197/oel1...

Re: stud the remake

Never said there was anything wrong with the name. Car's getting a new lease of life and should be given a new name. Again, up to the owner of the car, only giving my opinion.

Re: supercharged mini on donedeal

Tis a sweet car, only one downside and its a small one. That sticker on the back window, similar to the boy racer cars that have the likes of "vtec inside" or "mivec inside". Fair dues to the owner though who put the effort into the car to make it what it is.

Aviation fuel, wouldn't put it past him. He could have been tinkering around with the engine aswell. Lets put it this way, when its back on the road, its not leaving my sight. Fuel tank was drained, and the lines cleared out just in case.

so we reckon he was driving the crap outta it That wont cause that problem if it was correctly set up in the first place. As said already , incorrect timing can cause pinking. Also wrong spark plugs or a weak mixture can cause it too. The engine set-up was grand, was driving for months without any ...

Re: Any Piston Experts????

It was built a good few months, car was borrowed by a person and thats the way i got it back. Brake cable snapped aswell so we reckon he was driving the crap outta it and might have added something to the fuel. The lads have come accross damaged pistons but not along the side of one in a mini.

Re: Any Piston Experts????

Thanks for the input lads, much appreciated. Is there anything that would contribute to the detonation/advanced ignition? the guy that built the car is disgusted and convinced the person who had it did something to cause it and jokingly said "he must hae put NOS in it or something"

Any Piston Experts????

Need some advice on what would do this to a piston. I have asked the same question to many a mechanic and mini expert. All of them have never seen this before and are stumped to how the person who had the car at the time managed to cause the damage. As you can see from the pictures the damage is all...
