Re: 1994 Mini Cooper Battery

That's bang on Bert, have one in my own
The standard battery for a mini was the 045 but the 063 can give you better cranking power and fits the battery box so much better

I should meet up with the convoy along the M11 at Gorey, If you're leaving Carrickmines at 09:30hrs I'll be on the road from around 10:00hrs, should be able to stay an hour or two before I head off to work

Re: 1275GT Sump Guard

there's always a slight bit of modifying when fitting stuff to a mini, from memory though you only really needed to modify the cheaper variety as the fit wasn't great, this might have been taken care of by now though?

Re: 1275GT Sump Guard

most if not all sump guards will fit as it's all the same under there apart from the auto's, I use an RAC Dural myself, good thickness of material and you can add in an extra section to cover the underside of the gear selector :D it is expensive but you get what you pay for, I think mini sport still...

Re: Seen a Mini?

Spotted in Ribadeselle Spain last week, this was with a few other classics, all in beautiful condition, They don't seem to have the same issues with rust as we have over here :( http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/ss260/macker1380/Holls%202015/DSC_0127_zpsinm6zziw.jpg http://i581.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Help Removing Ring gear

Generally you need a flywheel puller and apply lots of pressure with it, then beat lumps out of the flywheel with a lump hammer (using a lump of wood between so as not to damage the flywheel) making sure to turn the flywheel occasionally, When that doesn't work you'll need to apply heat to the flywh...

Great pictures!
Terrible shame about Maggie not making it, don't give up on her yet though!
I'm surprised that there weren't any 26 minute head gasket replacements done at the side of the road as have been done before!
maybe the block and head need to be skimmed?
Give her another chance!

How much did they charge you?
520 far from cheap
I had been paying around 200 per year for the last few years, with ALL modifications declared,
this year they said they had nothing on record of any of my modifications and as such the underwriter came back with a price of 365
