Re: 1979 mini

That's great, i appreciate that. How did you manage that? I thought that a hosting site might have been easier given that i couldn't do it on here . Thanks again.

solenoid wiring

Hi does anyone have a picture of the wiring on the solenoid switch. The car is a 1979 mini 1000 and the previous owner was messing around with it because he couldn't get it to earth properly and im not all that sure of whats what on it or if anything is missing from the wiring. Cheers.

Hi i resized the photo to 2mb and tried to upload it and the message this time said
"sorry the board attachment quota has been reached". What does this message mean? Is it me or the site?

Re: Another Dodgy Mini

I think a nice Mk3 early 70's Mini looks great. Take Eamospud's '72 850, a super little car that has had twin carbs and a bigger exhaust fitted and it goes like stink. Nothing that can't be put back to standard if required. Each to their own I know but 6222 ZC is definitely a ringer. I agree, twin ...

Re: Another Dodgy Mini

Thats what i was thinking that a look under the bonnet could or would tell a lot. To my mind an original 1972 mini would be worth a tidy sum in todays market so i dont understand why you would make a rarish model look like every other mini from the latter years. I know that we all did it back in the...

Re: 1970's Mini.

There is the vin plate with the chassis number and engine number on the slam panel as you say. Spot welded to the slam panel on the opposite side is a rectangular plate with an another number that i have not cleaned up yet to see what it says on it.

Re: repair panels

I came across his site there the other day and he seems to have a good supply of panels and prices seem good too and like you say saves on postage. I will try and get down to him in Wexford and have a gander.

repair panels

Hi, a question for the more experienced mini owners, what are the best repair panels to use and where is the best place to purchase them? If buying in the UK is the postage expensive to ship them or am i better off buying them here? Just trying to get a feel for what is out there what the best route...

Re: 1970's Mini.

Thanks for the reply and yes it does help. I searched around the site and other sites to get a feeling for what years the different marks were available and the little differences in them and yes i know that it is easy to add bits in but the yoke im looking at isn't big money and it is what it appea...

Hi all, i am about to pickup a mini that needs work ( alot of it),
it is a mid to late 70's from what i can gather, a round nose, where should i look on those age cars to find the correct numbers to make sure it is what it is supposed to be. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, John.

Re: Electric Mini Conversion

Hi Kriss, yes that was what i meant when i asked what drivetrain you had as to whether you had purchased one already made or made one from scratch. It is even more impressive the way you have it done, an ingenious piece of engineering. i must read it again to fully understand the concept of how you ...
